Kumalo Sports Club were crowned champions of the Rupiny Christmas Cup 2025 after edging past Gulu City Council Football Club in a tense and thrilling final that ended 1–1 in regulation time, before Kumalo sealed a 4–2 victory in the penalty shootout.

The match was tightly contested and goalless in the first half, before Watmon broke the deadlock in the 64th minute to put Gulu City Council in front, however, Kumalo Sports Club responded with renewed pressure and quickly equalized in the 70th minute when Phillip Okello headed in a well-delivered corner kick from Joel Kawanga, bringing the game level and reigniting the contest.

The match ended 1–1 at full time and was decided by penalties, where Kumalo Sports Club showed composure to win 4–2 in the shootout and clinch the championship.
The triumph was especially meaningful for Kumalo Sports Club who bounced back from their 2024 final loss to Bilbao FC to return stronger and claim the Rupiny Christmas Cup title in 2025.

The victory crowned Kumalo Sports Club as Rupiny Christmas Cup 2025 champions, sealing a fourth trophy in one year and confirming their status as one of the region’s elite teams.
