Kumalo Sports Club Defeat Hosts Blue Zone FC 1-0 in Friendly Match

Kumalo Sports Club secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over hosts Blue Zone FC in a highly contested friendly match played yesterday at Laliya Primary School Ground.

The visitors nearly took an early lead in the 18th minute when Bill Clinton’s effort struck the crossbar, denying Kumalo Sports Club the opening goal.

The first half was evenly balanced, with both teams matching each other in possession and creating scoring opportunities. Their disciplined performances and competitive spirit saw the teams head into the halftime break tied at 0-0.

The second half remained closely contested as both sides searched for the breakthrough. Kumalo Sports Club eventually found the decisive goal in the 80th minute through Nelson Okot Mandela, whose strike proved enough to separate the two sides at the final whistle.

Fans applauded both teams for their discipline, competitiveness, and quality display throughout the match.

Speaking after the game, Kumalo Sports Club captain Acire Brian Aduga praised his teammates for their commitment and urged them to remain consistent and continue working together ahead of the upcoming season.

Blue Zone FC caretaker coach Amos Tamanya, meanwhile, acknowledged the defeat and called for reorganization within his side, expressing confidence that the team would bounce back stronger in future matches.

Both clubs are expected to continue their preparations for the forthcoming Gulu DFA League and cup competitions through friendly matches, with their next fixtures yet to be announced.
