Mother Ludia Nursery and Primary School triumphed with a commanding 3-0 victory over Light Ray Medical Centre to claim the championship in the inaugural Rupiny Corporate League 2025, held last Sunday at Gombe Junior Nursery and Primary School, Gulu.

Gum Ronald’s first-half strike gave Mother Ludia Nursery and Primary School an early advantage, while Michael Ocira’s spectacular second-half brace secured a 3-0 victory. Despite Light Ray’s unwavering determination, Mother Ludia emerged victorious,. Ocira’s standout performance crowned him the tournament’s top scorer with an impressive tally of five goals.

Esther Lajwa, Principal of Mother Ludia Nursery and Primary School, praised Rupiny FM, commended Light Ray’s sportsmanship, celebrated her team’s victory, and pledged future participation in the tournament.

Heike Rath, Director of Light Ray Medical Centre, congratulated both the champions and her team, emphasizing that sports foster unity and strengthen bonds within the community.

Team managers and representatives urged that the Rupiny Corporate Tournament 2025 created competitive spirit, unity, and collaboration, fostering connections across organizations and sectors within the region.

Addressing the gathering, Kidega Dee Deco, Marketing manager of Gombe Junior School, praised Rupiny FM and Vision Group for spotlighting talent and promoting the school as a vibrant community event hub.
Peter Labejja, Station Manager of Rupiny FM, praised organizers and participants for the tournament’s success and pledged a more inclusive second edition.

This year’s tournament celebrated remarkable achievements, with Light Ray securing second place and receiving UGX 300,000 and silverware. Pi Wan Medical Centre claimed third, earning UGX 200,000 and silverware. Champions Mother Ludia Nursery and Primary School were awarded UGX 500,000, silverware, and the prestigious trophy.
The tournament featured a diverse range of participants including: Rupiny FM, Mother Ludia Nursery and Primary School, ICEA Insurance Company, Light Ray Medical Centre, Equity Bank, Pi Wan Medical Centre, Whitaker Foundation and Ministry of Internal Affairs.
