GULU, UGANDA — Kumalo Sports Academy U-19 team has officially resumed holiday camp training, with excitement and renewed determination as the young players begin preparations for a series of upcoming domestic competitions.

The players returned from school following the second-term holiday and immediately joined the training programme, which is aimed at maintaining their fitness, strengthening team cohesion and preparing them for the competitive matches ahead.
The return to camp was marked by a positive atmosphere as players reunited with their teammates and coaching staff. Speaking about their return, the players said they had a productive term at school, both academically and on the football pitch, and were delighted to be back together as they work towards achieving their collective goals.
One of the players making a welcome return is Samuel Akena, a striker who had been sidelined for about a month due to injury. Akena confirmed that he has recovered and is now fully fit and ready to contribute to the team in the upcoming fixtures.

Mwaka Gilbert David Agwee, Interim Head Coach and Technical Director of Kumalo Sports, explained that the holiday training programme will focus on developing the players technically and tactically while introducing them to a new style of play.
Gilbert said the programme is intended to equip the young players with the skills, discipline and tactical understanding required to compete at local, national and, ultimately, international level.
Oyo Ivan, Chief Executive Officer of Kumalo Sports, reaffirmed the club’s commitment to the welfare and development of its young players.
Ivan said the club will ensure that the team receives proper medical attention, adequate meals, training equipment and other essential support needed to maintain a professional and well-organised training environment.
The team now awaits confirmation of the Gulu DFA Super Cup and league fixtures as they intensify preparations for the upcoming competitions. Their training session was later boosted by the presence of the U-13 young lads.
