Kumalo Sports Club secured the bronze medal in the just concluded CCU Mental Health Soccer Tournament after a tense 1-1 draw and a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Gulu City Council FC. The match was played at the UPDF Playground and kicked off at 11:00am.

Andrew Odong put Kumalo ahead in the 11th minute with a brilliant free kick, but Gulu City’s Opwonya Richard equalized four minutes later, sending the game into halftime at 1-1.
Both sides battled intensely in the second half in search of a winner, but neither could break the deadlock, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. Kumalo triumphed 5-4 after Opwonya Richard missed his spot-kick, securing a well deserved third place finish in the 2025 tournament.
Kumalo’s standout forward, Andrew Odong, was also crowned Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, having delivered an outstanding campaign with 5 goals and 3 assists.
